MSTKD INSTRUCTORS
Our Instructors originally gained their discipline in defining the martial art FORM and the details of fast Weapons MOVEMENT. We have added to that the POWER of Board Breaking, and the SPEED and AGILITY of a rigorous Self Defense found in Hapkido and Jujitzu. A student may become disciplined physically, and mentally in preparation for obstacles in this life through the use of TaeKwon-Do instruction. MSTKD Instructors are humbled, by the extraordinary movements in the study of Taekwon-Do found in the discipline of the International Taekwon-Do Federation. That which is studied in Nature can provide the means of how to develop dicipline in the life of the Soul.
General Choi found that Five particular Tenets are essential in the development of a diciplined human character. Those Tenents are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and an Indomitable Spirit.
The Tenets of TaeKwon-Do can gradually be developed as a result of much patience, practice and perseverence in overcoming physical and mental limitations' and changing those limitations into strengths.
Below are the three Instructors of Mission Sierra TaeKwon-Do - a brother and two sisters Sam, Sarah and Catherine Lewis. Their discipline was developed from a dedicated and quite serious preparation for TaeKwon-Do tournaments, competing one on one against some of the BEST students in American & Canadian TaeKwon-Do.
Sam Lewisa 3rd DAN Black Belt is the Chief Instructor at Mission Sierra TaeKwon-Do. Sam together with his two sisters started Mission Sierra Taekwon-Do and International Taekwon-Do Member School which is located in Silicon Valley, California. Our current school is located in the East hills overlooking East San Jose. ITF has inspired Sam to take a more serious road in Martial Arts than he has previously achieved. He is an honorable instructor, who puts the values of Taekwon-do above recognition and achievements.
Sam's primary focus has been Weapons, Patterns, and Self Defense especially Hapkido. Sam has found that traditional Taekwon-Do with its consistency in movement is best for overall discipline in a Martial Art school instruction program. His own development has made him a very dedicated Instructor.
